Aims: The two most prevalent endocrine conditions are thyroid dysfunction and diabetes mellitus, which often co-occur in individuals.
This study aimed to assessed vitamin B12 in Iraqi groups (T2DM with hypothyroidism, T2DM without Hypothyroidism and Healthy).
Material and Methods: Ninety participated in this study divided to three groups, data collection during 2025 in national diabetes center/ Mustansiriyah University.
Result: There was a highly significant decreased between Vitamin B12 levels and study groups(T2DM with hypothyroidism, T2DM without Hypothyroidism and control). In addition there was a strong negative correlation between vitamin B12 with age , BMI,FBS, TC,TG,HDL and TSH in T2DM with hypothyroidism patients . While a positive correlation between vitamin B12 and TT3 and TT4 in T2DM with hypothyroidism patients.
Conclusion; When compared to healthy people, vitamin B12 deficiency is more prevalent in diabetic patients with hypothyroidism than in those without. This may be an indicator of other complications of diabetic patients, such as neuropathy, gastrointestinal problems, and anemia.
