Aims: People with disabilities remain a neglected part of society and encounter various barriers due to limited participation. This study aimed to assess the quality of life and the socio-demographic characteristics of physically disabled individuals, including age, gender, social condition, academic achievement, occupation, and residential area. It also sought to identify the degree, causes, and duration of disability, as well as the levels of quality-of-life domains among adults with disabilities.
Instrument & Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was conducted on 100 disabled adults selected through purposive sampling at the Babylon Rehabilitation Center from December 2023 to May 2024. Data were collected using a researcher-developed questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS 26 software.
Findings: The majority of disabled adults were aged 30 years or younger (36%). Most participants were male (73%), married (62%), had completed primary education (38%), were unemployed (88%), and lived in urban areas (71%). The severity of physical disability was high among most participants. Physically disabled individuals demonstrated a moderate level of quality of life (75%).
Conclusion: Physically disabled adults have a moderate level of quality of life, and their quality of life is not influenced by their socio-demographic factors.
