Abstract   (776 Views)
Aims: Indirect effects of war are among the influential factors in psychological health of children of veterans. The purpose of this study was to explain the causal relationship between religious attitude and spiritual intelligence with their connection to psychological capital in the children of veterans, with the cognitive regulation of emotion serving as a mediating factor.
Instrument & Methods: This descriptive research was done on 253 children (both boys and girls) of veterans aged 18 to 40 who were voluntarily selected as a sample between April 2022 and September 2022. The used questionnaires included the Psychological Capital Questionnaire, the Religious Attitude Questionnaire, the Spiritual Intelligence Questionnaire, and the Cognitive Regulation of Emotion Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using path analysis, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and regression analysis by IMOS software.
Findings: The evaluated structural model had good fit indices for the data. The indirect path coefficients between spiritual intelligence (β=0.054, p=0.023) and religious attitude (β=0.171, p=0.001) with psychological capital were positive and significant. Cognitive emotion regulation strategies mediated the relationship between spiritual intelligence and religious attitude with psychological capital in a positive and meaningful manner.
Conclusion: Spiritual intelligence, religious attitude, and cognitive emotion regulation strategies explain the psychological capital in the children of veterans.
