Abstract   (11966 Views)

Exposed to an alternating magnetic flied, suspension of superparamagnetic nanoparticles begins heating due to two mechanisms: Neel relaxation and Brownian rotation. This heating effect is an appropriate candidate to be used in hyperthermia treatments of cancer. In this paper the heating effect of magnetic fluid in a porcine liver tissue is numerically analyzed and experimentally validated. Analysis reported in this paper is a three dimensional and transient simulation of magnetic fluid hyperthermia process for a tissue having a micro perfusion and also is near a large blood vessel. The temperature distribution in tissue is calculated for various micro and macro perfusion rates and their effects on the temperature profile are considered.
