Introduction: In this research a new design of shoes was proposed to help blind people recognize the obstacles while walking. This can be a proper replacement for white cane. Furthermore, white cane has some deficits and we tried to remove them while designing this shoe, such as problem in recognizing depth and height.
Materials and Methods: The mechanism informs while the person about the obstacle in the way through vibration on the person's ankle. In the new structure the area around persons will be scanned (3D), and constantly, there are some information about the area. And if the person reaches to an obstacle, a decrease in height, or an obstacle on the way of his body or his head, there will be warning via some vibrator motors. The main idea of producing such a device was from the mechanisms that use ultrasound waves to measure the distance, and they are widely used in radars and such devices.
Results: Making and using such waves are not harmful for health at all, I addition this shoe can make the electricity which needs with a small power generator so it does not need any external battery charge.

Background : Incidence of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among some combatants was one of the problems of Iran-Iraq War. Several studies have shown that, this disorder have high comorbidity with other kinds of disorders such as substance abuse. Unfortunately, some imposed war veterans are involved in substance abuse, too. The current study examined the effect of some individual psychological factors on these veterans' substance abuse. The main hypothesis of this research is the existence of the significant difference between life regard index of veterans who did not history of substance abuse in comparison to veterans with a history of substance abuse. Therefore, the aim of this study is to compare this variable between two experimental groups.
Materials and Methods: To achieve the research objectives, 120 veterans who were hospitalized in Shahid Rajaee Hospital in Isfahan for PTSD about 9 months were selected by available sampling method, 60 of them were with and others without substance abuse, And they were matched in terms some of demographic characteristics with each other. Then, life regard index of the subjects were evaluated by questionnaire. For data analysis, descriptive statistics (Mean, SD) and for hypothesis investigation, inferential statistics (independent T-Test) were used.
Results : There was significant difference between the mean score of life regard index of those with history of substance abuse and those without it. Also, there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of the fulfillment subscales scores. Between the two groups of subjects in terms of scores of framework subscales had no significant difference.
Conclusion: positive life regard development could facilitate the prevention of substance abuse in veterans and cause immediate recovery from it.

There was significant correlation between QOL and percent of injury, educational and marital status (p<0.05). But there was no significant correlation between QOL and age. There was no significant difference between out-patient and in-patient veterans. Conclusion: Posttraumatic stress disorder had been associated with a lower QOL in war veterans. QOL was poor in veterans with higher percent of disability, illiterate and single people.

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of aerobic exercise on general health and depression of veterans.
Material and method: Based on a semi experimental design 40 veterans, grade range 25 to 70 percent and with age average 40/3±1/4, were selected and randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. Subjects in the experimental group participated in a period of 12 weeks aerobic exercise training program, which done five times a week at50-65 percent of Vo2max. Control group did not participate in any exercise program during study period. General health of the subjects and its subscales was measured by the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ). Also for determine of depression range Serotonin levels were assayed before and after training for both groups. T student t test was used for comparison between two groups and data were analyzed by using of SPSS software version 18 at P<0.05.
Results: Data analysis showed a significant difference between the two groups in general health. The difference in psychosomatic subscales, anxiety and in somnia, social dysfunction and depression were observed between the two groups (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Aerobic exercise for inactive veterans may be effective in reducing depression and increasing general health and placed in line health promotion programs.

Background: Changes in the volume and shape of the stump causes difficulties in maintaining A comfortable and exact fit. Improper fit causes pain, discomfort and movement between stump and socket. There is not enough document to identify how much volume fluctuation causes fitting problem . To identify and understand the relationship between the changes of interface pressure between stump and socket with mentally feeling of amputees in "good" and "bad" fitting conditions.
Method and Material: The study was conducted on two below knee amputees. The method has 2similar stages, SCS was evaluated at both stages with the difference that one was done in bad and other in good fitting condition. To examine stump-socket interface pressure at each stage, static tests with applying half and full body weight to the artifical limb and walking tests were done.
Results: With volume reduction, it seems adding several sock layers to improve fitting condition (force couple correction)imposes high interface pressure to patellar tendon and fibular head which lowers amputees feeling of comfort. Without adding sock layers, stump movement to distal causes unbearable pressure to the distal of tibia.
Conclusion: In static tests, interface pressure increased in good fitting condition at patellar tendon and popliteal region. Walking tests in good fitting condition showed less movement between stump and socket and less improper pressure. Using too many layers of socks to improve fitting causes intolareable interface pressure at regions such as petellar tendon and fibular head.

Background: Emotion and cognition are two basic dimensions of psychological organization, Failure of performance any part can affect to other sectors. Emotional experiences can be on PTSD. the aim of this study is to investigate the performance of item and source memory in emotional experiences with PTSD.
Materials and Methods: This study was studied 30 veterans with PTSD and 30 normal individuals. The first three clips emotional (positive, negative or neutral) shown to participates, Then they were request to complete three questionnaires about the item and source memory.
Results: ANOVA test shows effect of group is Significant but emotional effect is only significant for source memory. Comparative results are also significant differences between the two samples in negative, positive and neutral emotional states in items and source memory. Just there is no significant difference between negative emotions in items memory.
Conclusion: PTSD patients had severe emotional experience that is beyond their tolerances it causes to they are reminded inconsistent and undesired components of the event. it makes difficult to process information completely so the PTSD patients had poorer performance in memory task.
