This research aimed to compare the effect of chemotherapy in the presence and absence of radiotherapy in cancer patients. </span></span></span></span></span></span><br> <span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:normal"><span style="unicode-bidi:embed"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:"><span style="color:#f79646">Materials & Methods:</span></span></span></b><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:"> In this experimental study, which took place at Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital in Kerbala from October 2023 to February 2024, 94 cancer patients between 30 and 50 years old were divided into two radiotherapy (n=48) and non-radiotherapy (n=46) groups</span></span><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:"> according to the expert&#39;s opinion.</span></span><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:"> An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to identify serum tumor markers. Spectrophotometric analysis was used to detect calcium and phosphorus levels in the sera. The data were evaluated using the student&#39;s t-test in SPSS 26 software. </span></span></span></span></span></span><br> <span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:normal"><span style="unicode-bidi:embed"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:"><span style="color:#f79646">Findings:</span></span></span></b> <span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:">There were significant differences in CA15-3, AFP, and CA19-9, calcitonin, </span></span><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:"><span style="color:black">carcinoembryonic antigen</span></span></span><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:">, calcium, and phosphorus levels between the chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy groups.</span></span><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Cambria",serif"></span></span></span></span></span></span><br> <span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:normal"><span style="unicode-bidi:embed"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:"><span style="color:#f79646">Conclusion:</span></span></span></b><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span cambria="" style="font-family:"> Using chemotherapy alone is not enough to treat cancer, and it makes the cancer spread when used without radiation treatment.
