Abstract   (18071 Views)

Introduction: Nowadays, there are many questionnaires available, validated & used worldwide. Today Most of the prosthetists are aware of the fact that prescribing & fitting the prostheses should be based on the real requirements of the amputee. Questionnaires are amongst the most important tools in qualitative research that may be filled out by the amputee, him/herself or the researcher via interview with the amputee.

Results : The resultant scores may be a tool to quantify the qualitative modules about the amputee’s function & socket comfort. These questionnaires are about using the prostheses, functional aspects of use and general activities of the amputee, but none of them can provide complete information about how to provide the amputee with a prosthesis which is most adequate to his/her real requirements.

Discussion: We tried to have a brief introduction to some of the most common questionnaires such as PEQ, BPI, SCS, DMERC, that are used to assess lower limb prosthetic comfort.
